Elm Cantilevered Coffee Table

1,200.00

This is the first of a few new pieces I'm making where I'm planning on mixing the live edge slab with a simple contemporary base.

The top is Scottish Elm that came from an estate down in Ballantrae, Ayrshire and the base is European oak that I done in black. The reason I chose this slab was because of the crack it had. I had the idea of stopping the crack from separating any further by using a bowtie, I think the proper name is 'Dutchman splines' but I'm not 100% sure. The bow ties were done in the same oak and made black to match the base.

This isn't a throwaway piece of furniture, look after it and it'll last for generations.
