"Just getting by working with my hands"
My background is "bespokey" type renovations, varying in size from one room to a full house. I'm pretty much workshop based for the most part now, designing and making furniture, mainly wood but also metal from time to time too.
Sometimes I'll be working with other "maker types" on large projects - kids nowadays know that as a "collab". Or I'll build a piece of furniture for someone who can't find what they need anywhere else. Then when I make the time I'll work on my own furniture designs and build them, I do a lot of stuff and I'm always interested in hearing from people who want to work with me on all types of projects - no reasonable request denied.
Below are some of the most common types of commissions I'll do:
The specialist on site work I'll do includes:
- Finish carpentry/Joinery
- Architectural millwork
- Coffered ceilings
- Wall paneling
- Door surrounds
- Skirting boards
- Replicating period mouldings
At times you can still find me doing some of the following too:
- Timber Kit Homes
- Failing to sell my scripts to Hollywood
