A few Jobs
/Been busy since cutting myself, 4 months with no work and being self employed means when you go back to work you take on whatever work people ask you to do. But now I’m able to work from about 8 in the morning and finish about 9 or 10 at night and it feels normal, I think thats a benefit of having a lot of work to do. Stamina, man.
Just an observation - I go out and people are losing their fucking minds, too much drama, not much problem solving going on, waiting on an algorithm telling you how to react to these stupid topics that no one should really care about. Example - some wanker on strictly come dancing is unhappy with a judges comments, it’s all over the news, actual headlines. Then there’s the comments, real people with jobs and kids to look after commenting their thoughts on how the dance went. Tell me I’m the nutcase, tell me you think everything’s going as well as can be expected.
I digress
Another Danish cord bench, this one is done with oak that I got from a tree that came down in a storm, if you know Lochgoilhead, it came down just at the hill towards Drimsynie after the war memorial. The tree came down and they left a stump about 4' foot so I saved it, slabbed it up and have been drying it for the past few years.
The other bench I do has tapered legs, this has straight legs, round but straight. Also this one has the oak dowel thingy at the bottom, handy for putting stuff I suppose.
Also, also, these will be up for sale soon, I need better pictures. Pictures, social media and the likes are quite annoying. It gets in the way but it’s a free way people can see your stuff so whatever. My observation on it all is that it seems that prostitution is still the most popular career.
This was a mirror that was sent down to a place called Lechlade along with some other stuff I made. Walnut with oak ties across the mitres.
Apologies for the mess, but it’s a small workshop and when it’s busy the place gets in a bit of a mess. Do you like the rug? Forty quid from facebook marketplace.
The mirror is a 44mm dowel, similar to a couple of other mirrors I’ve done, this is the first “square” mirror I’ve done (I know it’s a rectangle) I think it came out nice, I like it.
Done a few side tables and a walnut console table, similar to the oak one I done year or so ago.
Phone pictures but you get the idea.
That’s pretty much us all I’ve got to show for now, I done some glazed partitions, the pictures will be better when fitted.
I don’t know how you found this but thanks, and if you’re looking for something you can have a look in the store section or for anything similar but different just give me an email. I apologise but I’m going to need to write stuff like handmade walnut table Glasgow or Edinburgh and say handmade in Argyll, Scotland, oak bed Ayrshire. I really apologise for being so brash and intimate with my marketing schemes but it’s free and it works pretty well.
Take it easy.
