Black and White doors in Glasgow
/Some year, man! Pretty mental but we made it to the end. A year of doors, we had other jobs to do as well but the doors were a big part of the year. We we’re fitting out the new workshops as well, it was actually a really mental year. I remember a Friday to Monday in Amsterdam and a day off here and there but I was working the rest of the time. I don’t mind it but you need to be strict with the breaks if work is the constant. To get the most out of yourself you need to have an hour minimum for lunch. Early starts, long lunch, shorter breaks as the day goes into the night. By the end of one of these weeks and there’s still stuff to be done you need to go for the coca cola and whatever substance you’re into to get it done. Healthy eating is the ideal but there’s nothing like a bag of jelly snakes n’ cans a coke at midnight.
Here’s a set of doors we just finished up, last doors of the year.
I’ve seen the black and white style of door when driving around Glasgow, so it was nice to do a set. I wasn’t sure if it was only in the conservation areas but I had googled to find out why the black and white, not just in the conservation areas…
These doors were done in the West End of Glasgow. The ironmongery is polished brass from Jim Lawrence.
We’ve got a website set up for the doors now and there’s an instagram too. Search “Storm Doors Glasgow” and you’ll get an idea of what we’re doing.
We’ve always got a bit of a lead time, canny’ get the staff, but if you’ve found this looking for doors or other joinery work you can get in touch through the contact page and we’ll see what we can do.
Take it ease and have a good Christmas. It’s a knife fight out there!!
