Cabin Beds for a Castle
/Whilst perusing instagram (I don’t use words like whilst or perusing in real life) the other night I saw that Knockderry Castle had posted a few pictures of the finished rooms that we done some stuff for…
We done these cabin beds. The place looks very nice.
Inside had a bookcase at the foot of the bed, I see that there a bit of touching up needed in the back of this one…
I imagine they’re pretty cosy. We done a vanity unit too, I’ve posted this before but not sure if I had any pictures of the marble.
They went for an arabescato marble, a personal fave. Imagine having a favourite marble, go and fuck yourself Neil, get a hobby!
Anyway, I get all the marble and stone we use from a place in Govan called marble direct, ask for Amir. Great guys with the best selection of stone in Glasgow.
The only tip I’ve got when buying marble is to spend way more than you want/feel comfortable spending. When you see or hear anyone tell you that marble isn’t for a kitchen because it’s porous or marbles no good because it’s this or that blah blah blah, don’t listen. All of what these people are saying translates to “we were going to choose marble but we didn’t have enough money so we chose a cheaper alternative and we’ll still be trying to justify our purchase for years to come” Spend shitloads, like I’ve said before, the feeling of a house done with real materials outweighs the cost of said materials, if you can do the labour yourself then you’re jamming. I’m telling you this from experience of living in a house where everything was made using real stuff - wood, stone, glass, metal. All you need!
These photos were whipped straight off of their instagram.
Still outrageous lead times, who would have thought we’d get to this stage!
A quick update as these past few weeks I’ve been in the midst of battle. We shall charge on. “He who perseveres shall be saved”
